Year-round Indoor Skiing in Oberhof
365 days of snow in Oberhof: The DKB ski hall in the most sports-minded town in the State of Thuringia is a paradise for both recreational and competitive athletes. Here they counted on ROMA as well.
In only 14 months, the perfect environment for optimal snow quality was created on 10.000 square metres of space – with a constant interior temperature of -3°C to -4°C and 80%–100% humidity. The main building had to be sufficiently tall so that snow lances had a 6- to 8-metre drop height required for artificial snow to crystallise.
The Oberhof ski hall is insulated with 5.000 m² of P140 panels, coated on both sides with 35 µm PVDF in RAL 9010. After all, optimal insulation is not only a prerequisite for maintaining the perfect temperature but also to keep energy consumption to a minimum.
We are glad to report that our high-quality panels enabled the construction of a building that is unique in central Europe. With an Alpine skiing slope and a biathlon stadium, many recreational and competitive athletes are able to find everything they need.
